Frayssinous warns Super League not to take Dragons lightly

Catalans Dragons coach Laurent Frayssinous has insisted that his team are not in the Super 8s to merely make up the numbers.

Although they are affected by a long injury list, and have struggled for form in recent weeks, Frayssinous maintains that the pride of playing for the ‘Sang et Or’ will make them tough opponents for anyone, anywhere.

“It will be hard from here; you never know though. You just have to wait and see what happens,” he told reporters.

“The results will matter of course, but when you play for the Dragons you’re playing for the pride of the shirt no matter what.

“Whether it’s in France or in England, we’ll be tough to play.”

The Dragons did not enjoy a pleasant trip to Headingley for the last game of the pre-split season, losing 36-22 to Leeds.

Frayssinous felt his team made too many mistakes to win the game.

“We challenged Leeds for 60 minutes and we didn’t play that great,” he said.

“We made too many errors and that cost us in the end, but we challenged them for the most part and that’s pleasing.
