Scotland international Frankie Mariano has signed a new one-year deal with Doncaster.

The 31-year-old joined the Dons midway through the 2018 season from Championship side Featherstone Rovers, scoring five tries in 16 appearances for the club.

Mariano, who has two caps for Scotland, will stay at the Keepmoat Stadium in two years.

He said: “It’s good to have agreed a new deal with the club, I really enjoyed getting involved with the boys since I signed.

“Rich and Carl have been great and the squad we have put together is really strong, so we’re looking to kick on next season.

“It was disappointing for the season to end the way it did, but we want to use that as a motivation now to do well in 2019.”

Doncaster coach Richard Horne added: “Frankie is the type of player we want at the club as we look to build a squad full of quality for next season.

“The players we have already had put pen to paper stands us in good stead, and we are still working hard to get more bodies through the door.”
