Frank Winterstein leaves Toulouse

Samoa international Frank Winterstein has left Toulouse by mutual consent.

The 34-year-old joined the French club ahead of the 2020 season but only made four appearances after the Championship campaign was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A Toulouse statement read: “Arrived in Toulouse a little over a year ago to take part in the Championship season 2020, the 34-year-old Australian and his family were homesick, made worse by the current complicated situation.

“The entire TO XIII thanks Frank for his time with the club, and wish him the best for the future.”

Winterstein has made more than 150 career appearances for Canterbury Bulldogs, Wakefield, Crusaders, Widnes, Manly Sea Eagles, Penrith Panthers and Toulouse. He has earned nine caps for Samoa.
