France name 49 players in training squad

France have named an extended training squad of 49 players in total, for a training camp at Bacares on December 15 and 16.

The French squad, now coached by Aurelian Cologni, are beginning their preparations for the World Cup, to be held in the European autumn in 2017 in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

The players from full-time professional clubs will attend only the first day, the Elite League players the second.

On the first day, the coaches and conditioners from Catalans Dragons, Toulouse Olmpique and all of the Elite clubs will be invited to a presentation from the French staff, who will outline their philosophies and styles of play.
