Matthew Fox will return to Hunslet, after agreeing a contract that will keep him at the club until the end of 2014.

Fox, 23, was the 2010 Senior Academy Player of the Year at former club Wakefield, and he went on to have spells with Dewsbury and the Hawks before family and work commitments interrupted his rugby league career.

As Hawks Director of Rugby Darren Williams explained though, Fox is now ready to return.

“Matthew made contact a couple of weeks ago, stating that his work commitments had now settled down and that he had played a few games for our local neighbours Hunslet Old Boys,” said Williams.

“His passion for the game has been reignited and at 23 he’s still relatively young.”

Fox, who is comfortable as a winger or centre, had this to say: “I would like to thank the club for giving me this opportunity.

“I aim to grab this with both hands as this is probably my last chance at professional level.”
