Four Super League players charged

Four players have been charged with disciplinary offences following incidents in First Utility Super League Round 17 fixtures.

Liam Farrell and Anthony Gelling of Wigan are two of four players hit with RFL charges this week, following round 17 of Super League.

Farrell has bee charged with Grade B lifting in a tackle on Taulima Tautai of Wakefield, in the Warriors’ defeat on Sunday. Gelling has been hit with a charge of Grade A punching in the same game.

Two players from Hull KR‘s Friday evening victory at Bradford have also been charged. Bradford player/coach Matt Diskin faces a charge of Grade A striking, as does Hull KR‘s PNG international forward Neville Costigan.

The charges were levelled after the incidents were viewed by the RFL Match Review Panel. All four of the players have until 11am this Tuesday to submit Early Guilty Pleas.

Matthew Ryan of Wakefield was also formally cautioned for the use of the knee in a tackle on Gelling in the game against Wigan.

London Broncos players James Greenwood was also handed a formal caution, for making dangerous contact with Jason Chan of the Huddersfield Giants.
