Four Super League players have been banned for a total of 12 matches following incidents at the weekend.

Wakefield prop Chris Annakin is the hardest hit, after being handed a five-match suspension, and a £300 fine, for a Grade D dangerous throw on Warrington’s Roy Asotasi.

In the same game, Wolves back-row Ben Westwood was found guilty of a dangerous throw on Scott Anderson, and was suspended for three matches by an independent disciplinary tribunal.

Castleford’s Justin Carney and Widnes winger Paddy Flynn were both banned for two matches for punching following an incident in the game at The Jungle on Sunday, the latter using his option of an Early Guilty Plea.

Meanwhile, Leigh winger Steve Maden has been banned for three matches after being found guilty of running in and punching during an Under 20s fixture against Featherstone.
