Four Super League players have received suspensions following Magic Weekend at Newcastle United’s St James’ Park, while Josh McGuire faces tribunal.

Leigh have been hit with two bans following respective red and yellow cards in their victory over Wakefield on Sunday.

Half-back Ben Reynolds was sent off for a punch on David Fifita in the first half, with team-mate Tom Nisbet sent to the sin-bin shortly after for a hip-drop tackle on Jay Pitts.

Despite their disadvantage, Leigh managed to go on and claim a 30-4 win over the Super League strugglers on the opening fixture of Sunday.

Reynolds, 29, will miss the next two matches after being charged for Grade D punching. Team-mate Tom Nisbet will miss this week’s home clash with Hull with a Grade C dangerous contact charge.

During the same fixture, Wakefield hooker Liam Hood has received a Grade B dangerous contact charge. He will miss Wakefield’s clash with Leeds at Headingley Stadium this Sunday.

Castleford’s Liam Watts has been hit with a one-match ban for Grade B dangerous contact. The Tigers claimed their third win of the season with a 26-24 score over Leeds, and host Salford this Friday.

Meanwhile, Warrington forward McGuire will face tribunal on Tuesday for a Grade F unacceptable language charge against Leigh in Super League Round 13.

He missed the Magic Weekend defeat to Hull due to injury.
