The Steve Prescott Man of Steel nominees have been confirmed, with four players on the shortlist for the first time ever.

Those four are Castleford hooker Daryl Clark, his opposite number at St Helens James Roby, and two props: Leeds veteran Jamie Peacock, and Warrington’s England international Chris Hill.

Clark also appears on the three-man shortlist for First Utility Super League Young Player of the Year, along with Wigan’s Dan Sarginson and Leeds’ Liam Sutcliffe.

The Steve Prescott Man of Steel is chosen by a poll of every Super League player.

Tthe results of this poll are then considered by a specially-convened panel featuring a former Man of Steel, representatives from the players’ union and one representative each from the written and broadcast media.

The presence of four players on the shortlist this year reflects the players’ vote and the expert views of the panel.
