Four Championship clubs await Challenge Cup draw

Four Championship clubs have made it through to the fifth round of this season’s Tetley’s Challenge Cup, joining the 12 remaining Super League outfits.

There were no upsets over the fourth round, but Halifax, Sheffield, Workington and York all saw off non-Super League opposition to book their place in the last 16.

York mounted a comeback to see off Toulouse 30-28, while Workington got the better of their hotly-anticipated Cumbrian derby against Whitehaven 16-12.

Halifax thumped Barrow 52-6, and Sheffield fought back from 16-0 down to beat Dewsbury 30-16.

All four go in to this afternoon’s draw, which will take place at 3.30pm (broadcast live on BBC Radio 5 Live, and tweeted live via @loverugbyleague).

In all two all-Super League ties, Leeds beat Castleford 28-12 and Hull KR saw off 12-man St Helens 26-18.

Elsewhere, London survived a scare to beat Featherstone 24-12, and Huddersfield were given a tough afternoon in a 13-4 win at Batley.

There were one-sided wins for Hull, Cataan, Salfrod, Warrington, Bradford, Wakefield and Wigan, but Widnes were made to work hard for their 42-28 win at home to Doncaster.

The fifth round games will take place on the weekend of May 12th.
