Leeds have handed a new three-year deal to young forward Alex Foster.

Foster, 20, made his Super League debut at Widnes at the end of June, and went on to play the next eight Super League fixtures for the Rhinos.

He said: “I feel like I have been rewarded for my efforts last season with a three year contract and that is a massive boost to my confidence.

“The senior players were great with me last season and I am looking forward to a big pre-season and continuing to learn from them and the coaching staff.”

The former Wetherby Bulldogs youngster is now contracted until the end of 2016.

Coach Brian McDermott added: “Alex did a great job for us last season and showed that he has a big future in Super League if he continues to work hard.

“He has had tremendous support from his family and amateur club at Wetherby Bulldogs and I think it is a credit to them how Alex has acquitted himself so far and I am sure they are very proud of him.”
