Ex-rugby league player Luke Menzies has signed a professional contract with WWE.

The 30-year-old made over 150 career appearances in the sport and played for Batley Bulldogs, Hull Kingston Rovers, Oldham, Dewsbury Rams, Hunslet, Swinton Lions, Salford Red Devils and most recently Toronto Wolfpack.

Menzies was part of a WWE trial in Scotland two years ago and he has now signed a full-time contract with the organisation.

He made his wrestling debut on the UK independent circuit in March 2016 and again earlier this year, where he caught the eye of WWE bosses.

Menzies will shortly head to WWE’s performance centre in Orlando, where he will train and look to make it on the big stage.

Former Samoa and Salford star Daniel Vidot has also signed professional terms with WWE.
