Former Hull half-back Danny Nicklas has left new club York to join Hull KR.

Nicklas, 21, was recently released by the Airlie Birds to join up with the City Knights on a permanent basis, having played on dual-registration this season.

In a statement on their website, York said: “York City Knights can confirm that Danny Nicklas has left the club to sign for Super League club Hull KR.

“Nicklas has been an instrumental player in many of the Knights performances this season, predominantly while on dual-registration from Hull FC.

“We would like to thank Danny for his efforts and wish him well in his future career.”

Nicklas, who featured in York’s 52-4 defeat to Leigh on Sunday, made 10 first team appearances for Hull.
