Former Great Britain international joins Keighley

Keighley have signed former Great Britain international Jamie Thackray for the 2019 season.

The 39-year-old last played for Doncaster in League 1 back in 2017 but will lace up his boots again with the Cougars this year.

Thackray started his career at Hunslet back in 1997, and enjoyed spells at Halifax, Castleford Tigers, Hull FC, Leeds Rhinos, Crusaders, Barrow Raiders, Limoux Grizzlies, Workington Town, Atherton Roosters, Tumut and London Broncos.

The front-rower is most well-known for his two stints with Hull FC between 2005-06 and 2008-09, making a total of 76 appearances for the club.

He won the Challenge Cup while with the Black and Whites and was named in the 2005 Super League Dream Team.

Thackray also spent three seasons at Leeds, playing 34 games for the club between 2006-08.

He also earned three caps for Great Britain back in 2005.
