Flu jab drama resolved as Bryce Cartwright and Brian Kelly return to Gold Coast training

Drew Darbyshire

Gold Coast pair Bryce Cartwright and Brian Kelly have returned to training after resolving their issues involving flu vaccinations.

Cartwright provided the Titans with medical documentation seeking an exemption from the influenza vaccine protocol.

The document was passed on to Queensland’s chief medical officer Jeannette Young for review – and Dr Young has granted Cartwright an exemption based on medical grounds.

Cartwright is now eligible to return to training with Justin Holbrook’s squad in preparation for the NRL’s restart on May 28.

Meanwhile, Kelly received both the influenza vaccine and pneumococcal vaccinations and returned to Titans training today.
