Five players suspended by independent tribunal

Five players have been suspended after appearing before an independent disciplinary tribunal on Tuesday charged with offences committed during Challenge Cup, Championship and League 1 fixtures.

Catalans Dragons player Jeff Lima has been suspended for four matches after being found guilty of Grade D striking with the shoulder on Remi Marginet of Featherstone Rovers in the Challenge Cup sixth round tie played at Stade Gilbert Brutus on Sunday May 17. Lima, who pleaded guilty, was also fined £300.

Leigh Centurions player Tom Armstrong has been banned for one match after being found guilty of Grade B head butting in the same fixture. Armstrong, who pleaded not guilty, was also fined £100.

Kurt Haggerty of Leigh Centurions has been suspended for two matches after being found guilty of Grade C striking in the same fixture. Haggerty, who pleaded guilty, was also fined £100.

Oldham player Josh Johnson has been banned for two matches after being found guilty of Grade C striking in the 79th minute of the League 1 Round 6 game against Barrow Raiders on Sunday May 10. Johnson, who pleaded guilty, was also fined £75.

George Tyson of Oldham has been suspended for two matches after being found guilty of Grade B punching in the same fixture. Tyson, who pleaded guilty, was also fined £75.

Dane Manning of Halifax has been fined £100 after being found guilty of Grade B punching in the 72nd minute of a Championship Round 12 fixture against Leigh Centurions on Sunday May 10. Manning pleaded not guilty to the offence.

The following players submitted Early Guilty Pleas (EGP) to offences committed in Challenge Cup sixth round ties:

Jon Wilkin (St Helens) – banned for one match for Grade B reckless striking with the arm v York City Knights;

Mickael Simon (Wakefield Trinity Wildcats) – one-match ban for Grade B reckless striking with the shoulder v Leigh Centurions.
