Five players have been charged with punching following two incidents in the Kingstone Press Championship fixture, Batley Bulldogs v Swinton Lions on Sunday May 12.

George Flanagan of Batley has been charged with two offences, one Grade A and one Grade B; his team-mate Ash Lindsay has been charged with a Grade B punching offence.

Swinton players David Mills and Gene Ormsby have also been charged with Grade B offences; their team-mate Gavin Bennion has been charged with Grade A punching.

All five players are eligible to submit Early Guilty Pleas with the exception of Flanagan, who must appear before the RFL Disciplinary Committee on Tuesday on the Grade B charge.

The players were charged after the incidents were viewed by the RFL Match Review Panel, which issued a formal caution to Joe Pickets of York City Knights for a dangerous throw in a Tetley’s Challenge Cup fifth round tie against Catalan Dragons on Sunday May 12.
