Five back to boost Bradford

Bradford coach Francis Cummins is set to welcome back five players for this weekend’s crunch match against Wakefield.

Skipper Matt Diskin, centre Matty Blythe, second-rower Dale Ferguson and front-rowers Jamal Fakir and Chev Walker are all in-line to make their returns in what is a pivotal game in the Bulls fight against relegation..

Diskin and Walker missed out last Saturday with minor injuries, while Blythe, Ferguson and Fakir have overcome knee, back and hand injuries respectively.

Cummins said: “This is really good news for us, with such a massive and exciting game in prospect

“Preparations for this weekend are in full swing and it will be a case of a couple of last-minute checks to ensure the five players in question are going to be good to go for Sunday.

“We have really missed the likes of Matty and Dale – they have all been left frustrated by numerous setbacks this year.

“Jamal was forced to go under the knife in April and I think the impact of Matt and Chev’s absence, on Saturday, was fairly clear. They are senior leaders within the squad.

“Sunday is shaping up to be a huge game, for both sides, and, if the supporters can produce more of the same on the terraces, then I am confident we can deliver.”
