First step for Fax fan

David Singer, the Halifax fan who was seriously assaulted following the 2010 Championship Grand Final, is starting to learn how to walk again.

Singer, 33, suffered head injuries and was in a coma following the attack outside the Halliwell Jones Stadium, which left him paralysed.

He has now published a video on YouTube entitled “The longest of all journeys starts with a small step” to show his progress.

A message from Halifax on the club’s official website read: “This is really inspiring to know that David is trying so hard to get back to where he was in life before that Grand Final.

“David, we’re sure that all real rugby league fans are wishing that each day your one small step becomes more and that you will be able to undertake that longest of all journeys again soon.”
