Brett Finch will spend another season with Melbourne after accepting an extension to his contract until the end of 2010.

The 27-year-old former Canberra, Sydney and Parramatta player settled instantly at the Storm and has since struck an influential partnership with halfback Cooper Cronk.

“It didn’t take me long to realise Melbourne was where I wanted to be next year,” he said.

“I’m really enjoying my football down here. It’s a great club with great players and a great culture.”

Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy said Finch was a perfect fit for the club.

“Brett has been tremendous,” he said.

“He’s only been here a short time but already he’s had a significant impact.”
