Fiji to play Lebanon in Sydney

The Fiji Bati will be back in action in October, with an international against Lebanon set for October 19, in Cronulla, Sydney.

The teams will play for the inaugural Hayne/Mannah cup, as the Lebanon Cedars, who narrowly missed out on qualification for the 2013 World Cup when they drew against Italy, in 2011.

Fiji‘s last game was the 32 – 16 defeat to Samoa in May which saw them miss out on a place in the Four Nations this year.

It is hoped that the game will become an annual fixture. There will be two curtain raisers played on the day, too, with an U-16s game taking place between the Junior Cedars and Fiji Australia, and an U-20s clash between Liban Espoirs and Fiji Australia.
