Fielden facing spell on sidelines

Huddersfield prop Stuart Fielden is set for a spell on the sidelines with a knee infection.

Fielden, 33, underwent minor knee surgery last week and sat out the Challenge Cup win at Batley.

He had hoped to return for this weekend’s trip to Catalan, but has instead returned to hospital after picking up an infection.

Giants head coach Paul Anderson said: “Stu has needed the knee clear-out for a few weeks now.

“He had the surgery last week, which went well until he picked up the infection.

“He’s now back in hospital trying to get that sorted and, until that’s done, we won’t know how long he’ll be out.”

Fielden has made eight appearances for Huddersfield since joining from Wigan in the close season.
