Featherstone Rovers youngster Sam Day has joined Dewsbury Rams on a one-month loan deal.
Day, who can operate in the halves and at hooker, featured in Rovers’ round-four Ladbrokes Challenge Cup victory over Bradford Bulls last month.
In a bid to gain further game-time, the 22-year-old has agreed to a short-term move to Dewsbury.
Rovers’ head coach Jon Sharp said: “Sam is a very talented, young player, who just happens to find himself behind some of our top performers in terms of the positions he plays.
“Although we want him to stay here with us, we are mindful he requires greater game-time and believe the move to Dewsbury will serve both him and Dewsbury, and ultimately us, very well.
“On behalf of the club, I would like to wish Sam all the best during his short time with the Rams.”
Day cannot be recalled during the four-week loan period and is able to play for the Rams as early as this weekend.
