Despite maintaining their unbeaten record Featherstone Rovers boss Daryl Powell has said his side will only get better.

Rovers made it five wins from five when they beat Whitehaven 45-18 and remain the only side in the Kingstone Press Championship with a 100 per cent record.

Powell said: “I thought we started excellently. We finished as well , but Whitehaven came back at us in between and played pretty well.

“I was happy with the win at the weekend, but we are still looking to improve on a weekly basis. We are doing enough at the moment without being right at the top of our game.

“It is early, we’ve only played five games. We are working on combinations and we’ve got some people coming back who are going to put pressure on.

“Once we’ve got these players pushing for places we’ll start to see improvement in individual performances.”
