Featherstone trio Kyle Briggs, Ross Divorty and Jon Steel have signed new two-year contracts with the club.

Half-back Briggs and back-rower Divorty joined Rovers from Doncaster earlier this season after the Dons went in to administration, while winger Steel has Super League experience with Hull KR.

Head Coach Daryl Powell said: “Obviously were in the process of signing up what’s going to be an outstanding squad for next season and these three, plus the players already contracted for next year, will be the starting point of that process.”

Chief Executive Andy Prout added: “Jon has been one of our most consistent players throughout the year, and the progress that Kyle and Ross have made in their short time with us has impressed, and made a significant contribution to our recent performances. We are delighted that all three players have committed their future to Featherstone. The new contract extensions and the existing secured players are further testament of the ambition of the club and show that Daryl Powell is now starting to shape his own team at Featherstone.”

Featherstone shocked league leaders Halifax on Friday with a 22-20 win at The Shay which keeps them in the hunt for a top two finish.

They already have Andy Kain, Ian Hardman, Tommy Saxton, Matty Dale, Iestyn Harris, Tony Tonks and Gareth Swift under contract for next season.
