Ferriol banned for three matches

Catalan Dragons forward David Ferriol has been suspended for three matches after he appeared before the RFL Disciplinary Committee last night.

Ferriol has been found guilty of committing a Grade C offence for making a high and reckless challenge on Bradford Bulls player James Donaldson last Saturday.

The committee cited the potential for serious injury as an aggravating factor in the case and also handed Ferriol a £300 fine.

Wigan Warriors prop Andy Coley will miss Wednesday’s Engage Super League game against Castleford Tigers after he was handed a one match suspension for committing a Grade A running in and punching offence during Wigan’s victory over Leeds Rhinos.

Rhinos scrumhalf Rob Burrow has also been banned for one match after he was found guilty of a Grade B offence for making dangerous contact on Ryan Hoffman in the same contest.

Both Burrow and Coley were also fined £300 by the Disciplinary Committee.

Castleford Tigers forward Jacob Emmitt and Warrington Wolves player Michael Cooper have both avoided suspension after they were brought before the committee charged with Grade A fighting offences during their Engage Super League clash on Friday.

Both players’ excellent disciplinary records were taken into consideration, but they have however been fined £500 by the committee and received warning letters regarding their future conduct.

Crusaders second row Hep Chaill has been banned for one match and fined £300 after he was found guilty of a Grade B offence for a late tackle committed on Huddersfield Giants half-back Kevin Brown.
