Ferriol ban appeal fails

Catalan prop David Ferriol will miss Friday’s Super League clash against St Helens after his ban appeal was thrown out.

Ferriol, 33, was handed a two-match suspension for a reckless high tackle on Warrington’s Joel Monaghan during their recent 15-6 defeat at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

The Dragons had hoped the ban would be halved to make the French international available against Saints, with Ferriol already having missed last weekend’s Super League victory over Hull FC.

However, the appeal failed, and he will now miss tomorrow’s clash between third and fourth place, despite having been named in the Dragons’ 19-man squad earlier today.
