Catalans Dragons have confirmed that former star prop David Ferriol has taken up a role as the club’s ambassador.

The 35-year-old hard man, something of a cult figure at the Dragons, is delighted to be helping out his former club.

“I have great memories of my time at the Dragons and I am really happy and honoured to have become an ambassador for the club,” he said.

“I’m delighted to be back at the club and to be involved in celebrations of the tenth season in the Super League.

“Some of the best moments of my life and career were spent here and I will never forget the great support I had from the club and the fans.”

Catalans chairman Bernard Guasch highlighted just what an iconic figure at the club Ferriol has become.

“David is an emblematic player of the club,” he said.

“We want to keep, as much as we can, our former players involved in the club.

“He was a highly respected player and I’m sure he will be a great ambassador of the club.”
