Huddersfield’s Brett Ferres has been handed a five-match ban following his red card against St Helens on Sunday.

Ferres, 27, was sent off for a dangerous throw on Jonny Lomax, and pleaded guilty to the Grade E charge handed down to him by an RFL disciplinary tribunal.

He will miss the games against Hull, Salford, Wakefield, Castleford and London.

The back-rower scored 16 tries in 31 appearances for Huddersfield last season, and went on to make five appearances at the World Cup for England.
