Featherstone Women have announced the signings of Kirsty Duffield, Danielle Waters, Ellie Lamb, Hailey Swann, Amie Backhouse, Maddie Hurst and Sam Jordan from Castleford.

The seven players were all part of a train and trial period Featherstone had during the off-season and will now play for the club.

Head Coach Marie Colley told the club website: “I am absolutely delighted to get these signings over the line. I have worked with these girls in the past, some for only a short time and some for many years and I am very pleased to be working with them again and helping them to shape their future in Rugby League.

“Each player will add a different quality to the talented group that we already have. They will add experience, enthusiasm and professionalism and the competition for places has certainly increased intensity in training.

“As a group we have been in preseason for almost six weeks now and you can already see the bond that these girls have and the buzz around the ground and in training has been fantastic.

It is very encouraging signs for the club when we can capture talented and experienced players alongside the young guns that we have breaking into the squad. Our recruitment hasn’t stopped there, we will be excited to see further announcements in the coming weeks. The future looks very bright for the Rovers Ladies.”
