Featherstone Rovers prop Darrell Griffin has signed a new one-year deal at the club.

Griffin will enter his third year at the LD Nutrition Stadium having arrived from Salford Red Devils, following spells with Huddersfield Giants, Leeds Rhinos and Wakefield Trinity.

The 36-year-old spent 13 seasons in Super League, making over 300 appearances in the top-flight before joining Rovers, where he played 30 games last term.

He even earned two caps on the international stage for England in 2010.

And Griffin admitted that he is delighted to be staying with John Duffy’s side for 2018.

He said: “It was an easy decision to re-sign for the club. I really enjoy coming here, the team are great and it makes life so much easier when you enjoy what you are doing.

“I initially thought this year would be my last but I am more than happy to be staying. I love it here at Featherstone too much to say no.

“Last season was a pretty good one for the club and we are progressing well in pre-season training, ahead of what will be a really tough 2018 campaign.

“I cannot wait for the new season to come around, it is going to be a good one.”
