Featherstone have no issue with Toronto recalling Greg Worthington

Featherstone say they were fine with Toronto recalling centre Greg Worthington last week.

The 29-year-old went back to the Wolfpack on Thursday for one game only and played for Brian McDermott’s side in their 32-22 defeat at Warrington on Friday night.

Worthington would not have played in Featherstone’s Challenge Cup match against Barrow at the weekend anyway, and he will resume his loan at the Rovers from Monday (February 24).

Featherstone general manager, Steve Gill, said: “We were asked the question on Thursday regarding Greg returning to Toronto for the Warrington fixture, as he is cup tied for us at Featherstone.

“Greg really wanted to play in the fixture and we felt after speaking to him that it was the right thing to do for the player.

“Both clubs have agreed that Greg will return to Featherstone on loan on Monday, everyone here at Featherstone wish Greg the best of luck on Friday and look forward to his return.”
