Featherstone have welcomed the news that Martyn Ridyard will play for Rovers again this season.

The 31-year-old suffered a serious shoulder injury last month and he has now undergone surgery to treat his shoulder.

Ridyard is aiming to return to action for Rovers in August, just in time for the Qualifiers.

Featherstone coach John Duffy said: “This is a big boost for us and it will be great to welcome Martyn back during the Super 8s.

“His rehabilitation will begin tomorrow (Thursday) and he will be in the best possible hands over the next couple of months.

“Our medical staff have already been working closely with him and he will be able to maintain solid fitness levels, making his return as swift as possible.”

Ridyard has made 16 appearances for Rovers this season, scoring seven tries and kicking 54 goals.
