Featherstone prop Jimmy Beckett has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.
The 20-year-old, who spent the early part of the year on loan at Oldham, will remain at Rovers until at least the end of the 2021 campaign, with his new team an intriguing sports betting option ahead of the return of the rugby league season.
Beckett said: “I’m over the moon to have signed an extension with Featherstone, it gives me an opportunity to try and force my way into the first-team either this season, if it returns, or in 2021.
“It also shows that the club has faith in me, which means a lot to me as a local lad. I’m really looking forward to being able to show the Rovers fans what I can do out on the pitch.”
Featherstone football manager Steve Gill added: “It’s great news for the club that Jimmy has agreed to a 12-month extension, he’s a Featherstone lad who knows what it means to pull on the Rovers shirt.
“2021 could be a big season for him and could be the year where he breaks through and manages to become a regular first-team player for us.”
