Featherstone expect coach Ryan Carr to lead them in to Super League, if they defeat Toronto in the Championship Grand Final on Saturday.

Carr is in his rookie year as a coach and has led Rovers to within 80 minutes of an unlikely promotion.

For the past few months, he has combined the role with an assistant coach job at Leeds, and speculation has linked him with a permanent move away from the LD Nutrition Stadium, with reports already suggesting his replacement has been lined up.

Rovers GM, Davide Longo, said: “Ryan is on a two-year contract.

”There’s a clause that clearly states if we did get to Super League, his contract would become a Super League contract.

“We always said we’d speak to him after this first year to see how his family have settled down but he’s looking forward to taking the club into Super League.”

Longo also revealed that should Featherstone go up, they would likely have a mix of full-time and part-time players.
