Halifax have snapped up Welsh international Ross Divorty from Featherstone as they continue to build for the 2012 season.

The back rower, son of former Fax player Gary Divorty, arrives at The Shay fresh off the back of a Grand Final win with Featherstone.

Fax Director Ian Croad said “He’s very experienced at this level and should bring a lot of versatility to the pack. He’s still young and Karl’s excited to see if he can get more out him.”

The young forward has had previous spells at Hull FC, York, and Doncaster, and comes to FAX after a strong 2011 season. He played 21 times for Featherstone, scoring 4 tries in the process, and was involved in last weekends Grand Final win over the Eagles.

“He comes off a strong year and will be looking for of the same at us. He’s spent the last two season at the top of the table, and players get used to that kind of thing. We think we’re building a squad capable of being at the top, and Ross saw what we’re trying to build here. ” continued Croad.

At just 22 years of age, Ross becomes the 10th member of the 2012 pack, 5 of whom are under the age of 23. With Karl Harrison looking to add size and youth to the squad, Divorty fits the bill in both of these categories.
