Farrell: Catalans have impressed me the most

Liam Farrell has said that Catalans Dragons are the team that have impressed him the most during the early stages of the 2016 season.

The second rower is currently out injured with a rib injury after playing in eight of Wigan’s opening 11 Super League games this season.

With Farrell’s side coming up against every team in Super League, the 25 year-old offered his opinion as to who has caught his eye the most in the league this year.

“Catalans have impressed me the most,” Farrell said in his weekly column for WiganToday.net.

“In my predictions at the start of the season I said that if they could get their away form right, they could challenge at the top, and they seem to have done that.

“They’ve had some good wins over here, and maintained their strong form at home, and their league position – joint-level – joint-level at the top – reflects their form.

“I wouldn’t say they have surprised me, because I knew they were capable of playing this year from looking at their squad.

“But they have certainly impressed me, and for a side with quite a few new players in it, they seem to have settled and got their combinations going well.”
