Jacob Fairbank has returned to Huddersfield Giants, after being injured during his loan spell at Halifax.

Scans and X-rays have shown that the player suffered a fractured ankle and ligament damage playing for Fax at the weekend.

Fairbank was training full-time with the Giants while attending Halifax’s tactical sessions. He will now return exclusively to Huddersfield, where he will undergo treatment and rehabilitation for his injury.

“It’s another bad blow for Bobby who remains one of our most popular squad members,” said Giants managing director Richard Thewlis

“He was only saying the other day how much he was enjoying regular week-in, week-out rugby after his first uninterrupted off-season for a long time, and was keen to push his way into Paul Anderson‘s thinking through pure weight of quality training and successful game-time.

“It’s too early to put a timeframe on his return with swelling making a precise diagnosis tricky but it goes without saying that he knows he will get every possible help here medically to get him back out onto the paddock as soon as possible.”
