London Broncos have signed Australian three-quarter Jordan Atkins for the 2014 season.

Atkins, 31, has played in the NRL for North Queensland, Parramatta and Gold Coast, and adds some much needed experience to Tony Rea’s squad.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to the 2014 season with the Broncos. Playing abroad in the Super League is something I have always wanted to achieve.

“I’m very excited about playing with such a young and talented squad of guys and although the pre-season has been a bit unorthodox, we will all work hard together and embrace the challenges and opportunities throughout the year.

“I have no doubt I will learn a lot from all the playing group, staff and supporters. Exciting times ahead.”

Atkins has already arrived in London to join up with the squad, who kick off their Super League season against Widnes on February 16.

Coach Rea added: “He’s an experienced outside back, a really accomplished player who has been highly regarded in the NRL over a long period of time.”
