Evans heads out on loan

Warrington centre Rhys Evans has joined Leigh Centurions on dual-registration until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old made his debut against Harlequins at the tail end of last season. He has made seven starts for the Wolves this season – bagging two tries – as he seamlessly made the step up from academy level to top-flight rugby league.

The link up with Centurions is sure to further his rugby education and expose him to more first-team action.

In addition, Lee Mitchell has joined Harlequins on a one-month loan to give the second-row more Super League experience. Mitchell has made 35 appearances for Wolves and is a product of the club’s academy.

A number of young players from the Wolves’ under 20s squad have also joined teams on dual registration terms. Brooke Broughton has moved to Championship side Dewsbury, Mike Stewart to Championship One side Rochdale and Chris Fleming to Whitehaven.
