Full-back Niall Evalds is in the Salford squad for Saturday’s trip to Catalans following nine weeks out through injury.

Evalds, 24, broke a bone in his leg during April’s win over Wakefield.

Salford have won just once in Evalds’ absence, against bottom side Widnes last month.

Recent signing from Widnes, Ed Chamberlain, has retained his place in the 19-man squad, having slotted in at full back in their last two games.

With coach Ian Watson down to the bare bones of his squad, Craig Kopczak is named in the squad but the club say he is unlikely to feature due to a quadricep injury.

Salford 19-man squad v Catalans: Junior Sa’u, Niall Evalds, Rob Lui, Craig Kopczak, Josh Jones, Mark Flanagan, Lama Tasi, Ryan Lannon, Tyrone McCarthy, Ben Nakubuwai, Josh Wood, Derrell Olpherts, Lee Mossop, Jake Bibby, Levy Nzoungou, Daniel Murray, Jake Shorrocks, Ed Chamberlain, Greg Burke.
