Former Leeds Rhinos man lands new club Down Under as Nines switch made

Former Leeds Rhinos man Ethan Clark-Wood has found a new home Down Under, joining Premier League Nines outfit Campbelltown Saints for their 2027 campaign.
A product of Penrith Panthers’ youth system, outside-back Clark-Wood joined Leeds on the eve of the 2025 campaign, signed to bolster the squad following Maika Sivo’s season-ending injury.
The 25-year-old – who also spent time with St George Illawarra Dragon and Sydney Roosters’ reserves – had trained with the Gold Coast Titans during that pre-season and was set to don a shirt for Tweed Seagulls in the Queensland Cup.
But having moved to Headingley, he managed just one first-team appearance for the Rhinos: starting on the wing away against Catalans Dragons last March as Brad Arthur’s side were beaten 11-0 in Perpigan.
Departing Leeds at the end of 2025, he featured four times in the Q Cup earlier this year for Ipswich Jets: but has now found a new club with a code switch into Nines as he joins Campbelltown Saints.

Set to turn 26 next month, Clark-Wood joins a Saints side which won the Nines Premier League in 2025, and then finished as runners-up in this year’s edition.
Heading into 2027, the club are already starting to announce a wealth of retentions and new recruits.
Among those retained for the new season are Tim Lafai and Jarryd Hayne, both notable names in their own right.
Former Samoa international Lafai, of course spent a little over three seasons donning the colours of Salford Red Devils in Super League.
With 170 NRL appearances on his CV, made between Canterbury Bulldogs and St George, outside-back Lafai joined Salford ahead of the 2022 campaign and remained with them until early last year, departing amid the club’s financial woes.
Hayne meanwhile represented Australia and Fiji on the international front as well as playing for New South Wales in State of Origin.
His CV shows over 200 NRL appearances having worn the colours of Parramatta Eels as well as the Titans, and has returned to the field following two years in prison which came to an end in June 2024 as he won an appeal against a rape conviction.
Clark-Wood, Lafai and Hayne will all don a shirt for Campbelltown Saints in 2027, with former Super League and NRL players being utilised to help promote the Premier League Nines competitions.
