Eribe Doro suspended for breaching RFL betting rules

Warrington forward Eribe Doro has been found guilty of breaching the RFL’s ‘Betting and Related Activity Code of Conduct’.

An RFL Operational Rules Tribunal has banned the 20-year-old for two months, with one month suspended.

The RFL has said that the sanction imposed reflects mitigating factors and there was no connection with any Warrington fixtures.

However, they add that betting on rugby league matches by any individual bound by the RFL’s Operational Rules is a strict liability offence.

Doro had recently agreed to stay with Championship side Widnes until the end of the season, before being swiftly recalled by Wolves head coach Steve Price.

Doro will have no involvement in rugby league until his suspension ends on 27 May.
