Eorl Crabtree hails Huddersfield’s marquee signing of Aidan Sezer

Huddersfield legend Eorl Crabtree believes the club’s signing of Aidan Sezer will get bums on seats.

On Thursday morning, the Giants announced the signature of half-back Sezer from Canberra Raiders on a two-year marquee deal.

The 28-year-old will be Huddersfield’s first ever marquee player, and it is a transfer that has Crabtree delighted.

Crabtree said: “Signing Aidan Sezer provides you with something you can really tell the public about and get them off their seats.

“His last professional game was in the NRL Grand Final and his next professional game will be starting for Huddersfield in the Super League. That’s a win for the town of Huddersfield and Super League.

“Sezer is a clutch kicker, an on-field general and what is impressive to note is his ability to regain his place in the side after his injury in the middle of the year.

“With an in-form Sam Williams staking a claim for his place, Sezer fought back into the side and marshalled the Raiders to their first big dance in 25 years, playing a crucial role in getting the wins needed to get them far into the play-offs – something that we’re looking to do in 2020.”
