England squad named as Shaun Wane expected to make changes

England boss Shaun Wane has named his squad to take on France this Saturday in Bolton.

John Bateman has been included in the 19-man, having completed his ban. Wigan team-mate Kai Pearce Paul has also been selected and is expected to play.

Following England’s opening 60-6 win over Samoa, boss Wane admitted he will make changes to his squad for the Group A round two clash against France.

Joe Batchelor, Andy Ackers, Mikolaj Oledzki, Ryan Hall and Marc Sneyd are all also expected to feature.

St Helens trio Morgan Knowles, Matty Lees and Tommy Makinson have all been rested. Mike Cooper and Mike McMeeken also miss out.

France name squad

Laurent Frayssinous has named his France squad for Saturday’s clash. They claimed a 34-12 victory over Greece in their opening clash in Doncaster with a five-try performance.

Maxime Puech misses out, replaced in the 19-man squad by Gadwin Springer.
