England Knights to face Cumbria

Love Rugby League understands that the England Knights will travel to The Recreation Ground in Whitehaven on Saturday 22nd of October where they will face Cumbria.

Both sides had been due to play Samoa during the next month, however those plans changed when Samoa announced that they were cancelling their tour of England and Ireland earlier today.

With both sides looking for opposition to play in the absence of Samoa, the logical choice was for the two sides to face off against each other, something which will come to fruition on Saturday the 22nd of October with the kick off time still to be confirmed.

The last time Cumbria faced international opposition was against England at Whitehaven last year in memory of the late Garry Purdham who died in the Cumbrian shootings. The Cumbrian crowd were treated to a thrilling encounter on that occasion with the match ending in a 16-16.

The England Knights will be wary of this and will prepare by playing their first game on Saturday 15th of October against France at Leigh Sports Village.
