England medical staff will be working closely with St. Helens over the next few days to monitor the condition of key half-back Kyle Eastmond following an injury he suffered in his side’s Challenge Cup win over Barrow on the weekend.

Kyle Eastmond was named in Steve McNamara’s 19-man squad for the clash against France at Leigh Sports Village on June 10 but initial scans to his injury have revealed that he could be out for up to a month.

Steve McNamara said: “The England medical team have a great relationship with the St Helens staff and we will be working closely with them over the next few days to monitor Kyle Eastmond’s condition

“We are keen for Kyle to remain part of the squad as we prepare for the Gillette Fusion International and we will make an announcement later in the week.”
