Gareth Ellis is set to finally make his Hull debut against London Broncos on Friday.

Ellis, 31, broke a bone in his foot during the warm-up to the opening game of the season against his former club Leeds, and has been on the sidelines ever since.

Hull’s marquee close season signing is now fully fit, and Friday’s game will also mark the return of stand-off Daniel Holdsworth.

Coach Peter Gentle said: “For him (Gareth) to lead the team out on Friday night is going to be a big tick in one of his boxes. It was something he missed early in the season and something he’s looking forward to doing.

“He was down and out and felt as though he let everyone down but injuries are part of our game.”

Ellis joined Hull in the close season after four seasons in the NRL with Wests Tigers.

He previously made more than 200 Super League appearances in spells at Wakefield and Leeds.
