Hull FC stars Gareth Ellis and Danny Houghton, plus Castleford’s livewire winger Denny Solomona, are the names on the three-man list for the 2016 Steve Prescott Man of Steel.

Ellis, 35, has enjoyed a barnstorming season as Hull skipper, and could yet add the Super League title to the Challenge Cup he lifted at Wembley earlier this season.

FC hooker Danny Houghton has made an astounding 1244 tackles this season so far, and has been rumoured to be considering playing for Scotland in the Four Nations this year.

Solomona has scored 37 tries this season, breaking former Bradford Bulls winger Lesley Vainikolo’s 12-year record. The flying winger has been a delight to watch all season.

The Steve Prescott Man of Steel is chosen by a poll of every First Utility Super League player, the results of which will, for the first time ever, be made public after the event hosted at the Point, Lancashire Cricket Club, on Monday, October 3. The evening will also feature a number of other Super League awards, including Coach of the Year and Young Player of the Year.
