Elliott Miller commits long-term future to Workington

Elliott Miller has signed a new deal with Workington until at least the end of the 2022 season.

Miller spent six seasons with Town, before leaving to join Cumbrian rivals Whitehaven in 2015.

He returned to Derwent Park last season on a two-year deal, and his impressive performances for Leon Pryce’s side have earned him a new contract.

On his new deal, Miller said: “I’m happy to sign for a further three years and commit to the club that I enjoy playing for.

“I like playing in front of the fans we have and feel like the club is going places. I’m enjoying playing under Leon Pryce, learning from him each week and making the move to centre. I love playing there.

“The team we have now is built on a good team spirit with a good bunch of lads. Hopefully I can stay fit and play for many more years for this club.

“I’d like to thank the board of directors for the backing they have given me and the job they are doing to get the club back to where it needs to be. I hope we can finish this year with promotion after a really good season last year where we were unlucky not to get over the line.”

Town coach Pryce commented: “We’re delighted to get Elliott tied down to the club.

“Over my time at Workington, he has been the model professional and consistently one of our best performers week in, week out.

“He’s a great character and is always centre of the craic with his infectious laugh.”
